F.A.Q.

Answers to some of the most frequently asked Modelling Questions:

How do I get started in Modelling?

Success doesn't happen overnight, it will take time. Whether you are a Professional Model or wanting to start a career in modeling, you need to recognize that to succeed you will need to make a few investments - in yourself and in your portfolio. Ideally, your comp card should contain shots with at least 3 changes of clothes and only include your best shots that bring out your own unique character and style. Having variety in your portfolio will also portray your versatility. If you work regularly you will find your portfolio will build up over time.

What Is A Comp Card?

A comp card is a model's business card. The card generally has a headshot and four other pictures. It will also list the model's basic stats. The comp card is a "quick view" version of the model's portfolio.

Why Do I Need An Agent?

Quite simply, Agents find work for you. They also co-ordinate all aspects of the job and collect money from clients to pay you.

What is a casting?

A Casting is the equivalent of a job interview. It is where you get the opportunity to present yourself to a prospective client. To attend a casting, you have often already been put through a preliminary round with your comp card. It is extremely important that you are always prepared before attending a casting.

Do I Get Paid For Modeling With Models 2xs?

Yes! Modeling is a fantastic way to earn extra money. As your agent, Models 2XS takes a 10% agent fee from any work you obtain through the agency. This is a standard practice in the industry.

How Long Will It Take Before I Am Making Money As A Model?

Days, Weeks, Months? Unfortunately, there are no guarantees in modelling. You are probably looking at a minimum of 6 months before you see any money from commercial modeling.
Payment can be up to 30 days after you do the job.

What are the height and size requirements for a 2XS Model?

Contrary to the popular myth - there is no age limit on modelling.
Turn on the TV and watch some commercials - pick up a few magazines - there are models of every age range and body type in use today. The key is to be in good shape and well proportioned. The general guidelines for a High Fashion Model are over 175cm tall and size 6.
HOWEVER, the Far North Queensland market requires models of a variety of gender, size and age. One of our most requested model categories is females/males between 30 -40 years of age!

What attributes does it take to be a Model?

ATTRACTIVE: Well groomed and healthy.
REAL PERSON: When you look at an add in a magazine or watch a TV commercial, the people that were selected were chosen because they have a look that others (the average consumers) can relate to. In other words - when we look at the add or watch the commercial, we can see ourselves wearing those outfits, or eating that food, or visiting that vacation spot, etc..
WHO CAN ACT: You are not going to be hired to be yourself. You are being paid to act (portray) a character in an advertisement or commercial. It is unlikely that you will be hired to simply be yourself and look at the camera and smile - that's not what you see in advertising.
